Abstract

Using the technique of intracavity laser magnetic resonance we have observed and analysed over 200 resonances from the CD stretching vibration ν1 of the deuterated formyl radical, DCO. Analysis of these transitions has provided accurate determinations of the band origin, rotational, centrifugal distortion and spin rotation parameters for the ν1=1 vibrational state. In addition, by incorporating into the analysis the effects of Coriolis interaction between ν1 and ν3 we were able to determine the Coriolis coupling constant and some effective ν3 band parameters. These parameters subsequently led to the assignment of some weak lines to ν3 band transitions. The vibrational band origins were found to be; for (100), ν0=1909.773 cm−1; for (001), ν0=1794.613 cm−1.
