Abstract

The Intergenerational Youth Development through Urban Food Systems project aims to promote positive youth development by establishing mentor/mentee relationships between elderly adults and youth in need of positive role models. Youth will learn how to appropriately interact with the elderly population and develop valuable interpersonal skills through a variety of service-learning/giving projects. The primary objective of this project is to build community pride leading to a better environment through gardening, food, culture, arts, and commerce.
