Knowledge Bank

The fine structure splittings in $2\nu 3$ of methane have been measured from deconvoluted high resolution spectra. The theory presented by $Susskind1$, as an extension of the work of $Hecht2$ and $Fox3$, is applied to these data. Line assignments, molecular parameters and the details of the fit will be discussed.
