Abstract
The absolute intensities of four wave mixing under CARS conditions and the two photon absorption to the (E, F) state have been calculated for molecular hydrogen. The study demonstrates the feasibility of obtaining reliable absolute intensities of multiphoton processes using ab initio calculations. The infinite summation in the perturbation expansion of the transition amplitude is replaced by a finite seam. The wavefunctions are chosen so that the S(0) and S(-1) sum rules are satisfied. The results agree well with available experimental data.
