Knowledge Bank

We have recently measured two photon excited emission spectra of $K2PtCl6$ as a single crystal at 77 and $2\circ K$. Luminescence near 560 nm was monitored and distinct excitation features were found at 700 and 940 nm. These correspond to two-photon transitions of 28,500 and $21,300cm-1$ respectively. This data suggests an alternate assignment of the $PtCl6-2$ one photon spectrum which will be discussed.
