Abstract
Born in Tiffin, Ohio, in 1945, Ralph Reed Fraley graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, then spent five years serving in the military. Then, he attended Ohio State to pursue a graduate degree in Health Administration, a new degree program at the time. After completing graduate school, he worked at Ohio State for roughly four years, then served in several hospital administration roles in Virginia and Dallas. Fraley returned to OSU in 1989, where he served as CEO of OSU Hospitals until 2004. He ended his career as chief of staff of the Ohio Hospital Association when he retired in 2012.
