Abstract

About 150 values of nitrogen-shifting coefficients of the water molecule have been measured at 300 K. for vibro-rotational lines absorbing between 5000 and $10700 cm^{-1}$. At the present time, the preliminary results show that, except for a few lines, the measured $N_{2}$- shifting coefficients are negative: they range between 0 and $-0.022 cm^{-1}. atm^{-1}$, with a mean value of $-0.007 cm^{-1}. atm^{-1}$. The estimated uncertainties are ranging from 0.0002 to $0.003 cm^{-1}- atm^{-1}$ according to the quality of the line.
