NON-RIGID ROTOR TRANSITIONS IN THE MICROWAVE SPECTRUM OF PIPERIDINE

Abstract
The microwave spectrum of piperidine exhibits two non-rigid rotor Q-branch satellite series 1400 Mc/sec from the normal lines, and which overlap the normal lines in $C_{5}H_{10}ND.^{1}$ The microwave spectra of $C_{5}D_{10}NH$ and $C_{5}D_{10}ND$ have been measured. One non-rigid rotor satellite about 70 Mc/sec from the main lines was found for $C_{5}D_{10}ND$. The possible origin of the anomalous transitions in $C_{5}H_{10}NH$, in view of the results for the deuterated species, will be discussed.
