Abstract

The microwave spectra of six isotopic species of trifluoromethyl silane, $CH_{3}SiH_{3}$, have been recorded from 18.5 to 39 GHz and R-branch a-type transitions have been assigned for the asymmetric tops. From these data the following $r_{0}$ structural parameters have been obtained: $r(Si-H)=1.460 \pm 0.001 {\AA}, r(C-Si)=1.902 \pm 0.005 \AA, r(C-F)=1.360 \pm 0.002 {\AA}, \sphericalangle CSiH =107.17 \pm 0.01^{\circ}$ and $\sphericalangle FCSi = 113.13 \pm 0.22^{\circ}$. These results will be compared to some of the corresponding structural parameters for other trifluoromethyl-Group IVA hydrides.
