Knowledge Bank

The microwave spectra of six isotopic species of trifluoromethyl silane, $CH3SiH3$, have been recorded from 18.5 to 39 GHz and R-branch a-type transitions have been assigned for the asymmetric tops. From these data the following $r0$ structural parameters have been obtained: $r(Si-H)=1.460\pm 0.001\backslash AA,r(C-Si)=1.902\pm 0.005\backslash AA,r(C-F)=1.360\pm 0.002\backslash AA,\sphericalangle CSiH=107.17\pm 0.01\circ$ and $\sphericalangle FCSi=113.13\pm 0.22\circ$. These results will be compared to some of the corresponding structural parameters for other trifluoromethyl-Group IVA hydrides.
