This investigation characterizes the stretching (valence) frequencies of the $-\{P\}^\{\backslash prime\}^\{\backslash prime\}\_^\{\backslash prime\}-\{O\}-\backslash phi$ (phenyl) and the $-\{P\}^\{\backslash prime\}^\{\backslash prime\}\_^\{\backslash prime\}-\{O\}-\{R\}$ linkages in a large number of organo-phosphorus compounds. The frequency range of the $P-$Cl bond in several types of compounds has also been established.
