Abstract

The coherent anti-Stokes resonance Raman lineshapes of several compounds have been observed and compared to those predicted by theory. Experiments to determine the relative signs of the imaginary damping factors in the resonance denominators of the expressions for the third order susceptibility have been carried out. The applicability of line shape analysis to the determination of resonance excitation profiles will be discussed.
