Abstract

The collision induced spectra of H2,D2 and Ne dissolved in liquid argon are used to probe translational energy levels in a simple liquid. The spectral region 20−200cm−1 is examined with an interferometer and a 50 cm low temperature liquid cell. The simple cell model previously proposed to discuss spectra of light molecules trapped in liquid solvent cages1,2 will be applied to these new experiments.
