Abstract

For my STEP Signature Project, I studied abroad for four weeks this summer in Prague, Czech Republic from July 5, 2019 – August 3, 2019. I was able to go through AIFS’s Session C program which is supported by The Ohio State University. Through this program, I took one 3-credit course that transferred to OSU. The course was taken at the prestigious Charles University. For all students in this program, a short course to teach basic and necessary Czech language skills for survival in Prague was also provided. Outside of the university classes, the program offered a variety of cultural activities and excursions in the city of Prague and outside the city in the Czech countryside. These activities were included in the program fee. During this 4-week program, I had the honor of residing and learning at Charles University. Charles University only offered certain courses during the summer and certain courses taught in English during Session C of this study abroad program. The enrollment deadline for Session C was in May. The course I enrolled in is CZE 101 Czech Language for Everyday Use 1. This class helped me gain a proficient knowledge of the Czech language as whole.
