Abstract

The ultraviolet absorption spectrum of CS has been photographed with a high dispersion spectrograph. Analysis of the first five bands [(0,0) to (4,0)] of the a2π−X1Σ system will be presented. Absolute vibrational numbering is obtained from the spectrum of C31S. Fragments of this system have been obtained earlier1 and suggested to be a3II−X1Σ.
