Abstract

We report on a technically improved version of our MB-MWFT spectrometer. It is now possible to cover a range from 2 to 26.5 GHz without changing hardware, Furthermore new microwave components and quadrature detection enabled us to increase the sensitivity of the spectrometer. For special applications we modified a nozzle to produce electric discharges within the nozzle orifice. This way we were able to obtain spectra of free radicals and of molecules in highly exited vibrational states (up to 6000cm−1) As an example for the effectiveness of the spectrometer we will present results of our investigations of some aromatic Van der Waals complexes like fluorobenzene-argon and 1,2-difluourobenzene-argon.
