Abstract
Several lines of the $J = 0\rightarrow 1$ transition in the partially deuterated methyl alcohols have been assigned by the Stark effect. By relative intensity measurements, these lines have also been assigned to various torsional states. There are some anomalous features in the spectra. A simplified method of analysis has been used in a preliminary determination of the equilibrium orientation between methyl and hydroxyl groups which indicates the staggered configuration. If a rigorous calculation of the rotation-internal rotation interaction is completed, these results will also be presented.
