Abstract

The infrared spectrum of benzene has been studied as a function of pressure up to 10.000 atmospheres. Frequently shifts an intensity changes have been observed for many bands in the region above 2000cm−1 These changes in intensity may be compared with the effect of certain solvents on the intensities of some fundamentals bands at lower frequencies.1
