Abstract
This final report describes briefly the achievements concerning the five items of the Technical Scope of this project. Most of the results obtained are in the following papers: "Development of the Direct and the Indirect Effect of the Topographic-Isostatic Reduction in Zonal Harmonics up to Third and Sixth Degrees," by L. A. Kivioja; "Computing Gravity Anomalies for Unsurveyed Areas, by U. A. Uotila; "The Gravity Field of Airy Hypothesis Computed with the Development of Squares of Heights and Depths," by Karl Jung; "Review of the Heiskanen-Niskanen Tables for Indirect Effect of the Isostatic Reductions," by W. A. Heiskanen, attached as Appendices 1, 2, 3, and 4 to this Final Report; "On the Gravimetric Derivation of the Deflection of the Vertical," by F. A. Vening Meinesz, an appendix to Quarterly Report 2; and "Can We Neglect the Shift of the Earth's Gravity Center When Carrying Out the Topographic and Isostatic Reductions," by F. A. Vening Meinesz, an appendix to Quarterly Report 3. The results of the mathematical analysis on the correlation between the free air anomalies and topography will be sent later.
