Abstract

We have previously demonstrated the usefulness of millimeter and submillimeter microwave spectroscopy as a probe of active laser plasmas. In this paper we present detailed results for the HCN laser. Proper parameterization of variables as a means for minimization of the effects of unknown variables (wall deposits, etc.) will be presented. Included will be discussions of chemistry; excitation and deexcitation processes; and rotational Vibrational, and translational Temperatures.
