Vibrational overlap integrals have been calculated for the spontaneous predissociation $B[O+u(3\Pi )]\to 1u(1\Pi )$ in $I2$, for several possible locations of the repulsive lu potential curve. The agreement with experimental data based on $lifetime1$ and dissociative $yield2$ studies is quite good for a curve of form $r-9$, which was deduced previously from absorption data $alone.3$ Attention is given to possible interpretational difficulties in $I2$ lifetime studies, and new experiments are suggested.
