Abstract

The pure rotation spectrum of $NO_{2}$ between 8 and $200 cm^{-1}$ has been recorded at an unapodized resolution of $0.0033 cm^{-1}$ using the Fourier transform spectrometer of IROE. This spectrum has been completly analyzed leading to an extensive and precise set of spin rotation levels (up to $N = 50$ and $K_{a} = 13$) for the ground state. Then, using a computer program which fully treats the spin-rotation interaction, it has been possible to reproduce to their experimental uncertainty the experimental levels and to determine an improved set of spinrotation and rotational constants for the ground state of $^{1}N^{16}0_{2}$.
