Abstract

The 3ν3 band of nitrogen dioxide has been recorded between 4680 and 4775cm−1 using a Fourier transform spectrometer with a resolution of 0.006cm−1. The doublets resulting from the spin-rotation interaction have been observed for all che values of Ka. The four spin-rotation parameters ϵxx,ϵyy,ϵzz,ηzzzz, have been adjusted to fit on the observed splittings. A Watson reduced Hamiltonian has been used in our rotational treatment. The fit of the vibrorotational lines has led to the determination of a set of accurate spectroscopic constants for the upper vibrational state.
