Knowledge Bank

Using an expansion nozzle source, beams of ArXe, XeHCl, $(HCl)2$ and a series of HF polymers have been observed. XeHCl, $(HCl)2$ and $(HF)2$ have dipole moments large enough to give refocussing in a quadrupole electrostatic field. Microwave and radiofrequency resonances have been observed for $(HF)2$ and $(DF)2$. The spectrum does not fit rigid rotor models. This talk will be a progress report on the spectral assignment of these species.
