Abstract

Reactions of pulsed-laser ablated boron atoms with ammonia produced several new species. Relatively high yields allowed identification of previously unidentified modes of HBNH which are in excellent agreement with ab initio calculations. Another major reaction product, BNBH, was identified using isotopes of boron, nitrogen and hydrogen and frequencies are in excellent agreement with calculated results. The photosensitive BNH radical was also characterized. Analysis of spectra will focus on the comparison between observed and ab initio calculated isotopic frequencies.
