Abstract

The molecular beam electric resonance radiofrequency spectrum of $a^{2}II$ CO has been studied from 0 to 500 Mc. $\Delta J = O$ resonances of $^{12}CO$ and $^{13}CO$ in the states $v = 0,1,2,3$ and $4 \Omega = 2, J = 2,3,4,5$ and 6 and $\Omega = 1, J = 1$ have been measured. Electric dipole moment and lambda doubling values have been obtained. The observed variation of dipole moment with vibrational state is surprisingly small. Transitions in $^{12}CO$ involving the nuclear moment-electron moment hyperfine coupling are currently being studied.
