Abstract

The band spectrum of CdIn excited by a 100 me oscillator was obtained with a dispersion of $5 {\AA}$/mm. It showed two groups of bands with intensity maxima at $5544 {\AA}$ and $5760 {\AA}$, which were previously attributed to the HgIn $molecule.^{1}$ The bands can be analyzed into two systems and shown to be due to CdIn by the isotope effect. Bands in the $5544 {\AA}$ system showed P and Q heads. Both systems have a common upper state. Constants obtained were: for 5544 system $\omega^{1}_{e} = 106K, \omega^{\ast}_{e} = 62K$. For the 5760 system $\omega^{1}_{e} = 106K, \omega^{\ast}_{e} = 68K, \omega_{e}X_{e}$ is small for both systems.
