Abstract

A number of previously unreported infrared bands of CH3D have been observed with high resolution and have been analyzed to obtain the spectroscopic constants. The previously reported bands of CH3D at 2780cm−1 and 3016cm−1 have also been observed with better resolution than heretofore. A short discussion of the features of some of these bands will be presented. As examples of these features, it has been observed that the l-type doubling q's for the two degenerate bending modes ν5 and ν6 are of opposite sign, and the parallel component of the combination of these two modes is affected by vibrational l-type resonance1,2.
