Abstract

Galactic Simulations allow us to quantitatively analyze different processes as they happen in a single galaxy over time. Based on what we observe in simulations, we might be able to predict a variety of observable features in real galaxies. One such observable is the chemical abundance of a galaxy. In this thesis, I analyze simulated galaxies produced by Vincenzo & Kobayashi (2018). I categorize and explain ways in which the alpha to iron evolution of a galaxy can differ from the general case. I do this by finding correlations between the alpha abundance of the galaxy and different parameters that could affect it.
