Abstract
A Fermi resonance between the $\nu_{9} + \nu_{12}$ and $\nu_{8} + 2\nu_{4}$ bands of $C_{2}H_{6}$ near $5\mu m$ has been analyzed. The analyzed method used the Hellman-Feynman theorem for the analytical determination of $\delta E/\delta\alpha$ where $\alpha$ is member of the set of molecular $parameters.^{1}$ The subband origins were fitted using non-linear least-squares techniques. The analysis method will be discussed in details and results reported for the states studied.
