Abstract

The microwave spectrum of cyclopropyl methyl ether has been found to be dominated by “b” - and “c”-type dipole transitions of a gauche rotamer. From quantitative Stark effect measurements the dipole moment components have been determined. The development of the asymmetry/internal rotation splitting and intensity pattern has been followed from the psuedo rigid rotor low K states to the non rigid rotor high K states, and the methyl barrier to internal rotation has been determined.
