Abstract

Kristin Rodgers and Judith Wiener of the Medical Heritage Center discuss the history of the center, and their roles in maintaining and growing its historic collections and making these collections accessible to the public. Both first discuss their backgrounds and what led them to work at the center. Judith Wiener, head curator, has been working at the MHC since 2001. Rodgers, collections curator, was first hired as a student assistant an undergraduate student at OSU, then she was hired in 2006 under a one-year contract to process a collection. Finally, she was hired as a full-time staff member in 2007. The pair also discuss mentors and mentees, special projects, such as the medical center’s 100th anniversary celebration, innovations that have been implemented during their tenures, and what they hope their legacies will be.
