Abstract

Triplet gerade states of Na2 below X2Σg+ v = 0 and above 3s+3d dissociation limit were probed by perturbation facilitated optical-optical double resonance (PFOODR) spectroscopy.1 Two pulesed dye lasers were used as PUMP and PROBE lasers. The PUMP laser excited transitions from ground state, X1Σg+, to the A1Σu+b3Πu mixed intermediate levels and the PROBE laser further excited from the intermediate levels to high-lying triplet gerade states. Ultra-violet OODR fluorescence was detected. Several high-lying triplet gerade states were observed and assigned.
