Abstract

Paving brick impressed "Lincoln" are identified as the product of the Lincoln Paving Brick Co., aka Lincoln Paving Block Co., Corning, Perry Co., Ohio, which operated 1915-ca. 1923. Photographs taken during the construction of the company's Haigh Continuous Kiln document this kiln type. A continuous, stationary "moving fire" kiln, the popular Haigh kiln was soon superceded by continuous car kilns such as those designed by Dresser and Harrop.
