Abstract

The 4 - 0 stretching overtone region of H2O2 is investigated via Doppler limited photoacoustic spectroscopy in the bulk gas and also by high resolution (5 Mhz) molecular beam spectroscopy. The latter is done using a frequency stabilized ring dye laser that is injected into a high finesse Fabry-Perot cavity that flanks the molecular beam. Vibrational excitation imparted to the beam is detected with a liquid helium cooled bolometer, More than 130 isolated transitions are observed on the molecular beam leading to a full analysis of the overtone transition.
