Abstract

The following presentation is an exhibition of my STEP project in which I traveled to Thailand to perform health care community service work. During May of 2019, I traveled, along with a few other OSU students to a small village in Thailand, Ban Nam Khem, through a national volunteering organization, Global Vision International (GVI). Throughout this trip, the other volunteers and I participated in a variety of sustainable activities. This included working with disabled children to create more effective ways to learn and play, teaching kindergarten children basic English, performing healthcare physical tests in the village, and educating village members about the importance of hygiene practices. In addition to this, volunteers were able to travel across Thailand and participate in excursions during the weekends. I was fortunate to experience activities such as hiking in national parks, exploring caves, visiting beaches, and feeding elephants.
