$\mathrm{<mrow\; data-mjx-texclass="ORD">15</mrow>}$$NCS-$ has been isolated in NaI, KI, RbI, and CsI using the alkali halide pressed disk technique and an in situ reaction between $\mathrm{<mrow\; data-mjx-texclass="ORD">15</mrow>}NH4+$ and $CS32-$. The Infrared spectra of the samples have been obtained from $10\circ$ to $31\circ K$. The anharmonic force field of $NCS-$ has been determined using a simplified quartic force field.
