Abstract

Laser electric resonance studies applied to the reaction of $H_{2}CO$ with F atoms (produced by microwave discharge of $CF_{4}$) have yielded a spectrum of an unstable species. The spectrum has been assigned and analysed, and is confirmed as being that of the $\nu_{2}$ bending fundamental of HCO, A computer program has been written to generate and fit doublet transitions in a Stark field. Details of the experimental difficulties and analysis will be presented along with some preliminary results.
