Abstract

Previous $studies^{1, 2}$ of the infrared spectrum of HFCO have failed to locate $\upsilon_{6}$ the out of plane bending frequency whereas evidence from the electronic $spectrum^{3}$ places this vibration near $1010 cm^{-1}$. High resolution $(FWHM \sim 0.005 cm^{-1})$ spectra near $10 \mu m$ have been obtained using a Bomem Fourier transform spectrometer. The region is dominated by $\upsilon_{4}$ (CF stretch) which gives rise to an AB hybrid band centered at $1064.9 cm^{-1}$ but there are no obvious features attributable to $\upsilon_{6}$ Detailed analysis shows that $\upsilon_{4}$ suffers from several small perturbations which are presumably due to $\upsilon_{6}$.
