HIGH RESOLUTION ABSORPTION SPECTRUM OF MOLECULAR NITROGEN IN THE $1050-1520 {\AA}$ REGION

Abstract
The absorption measurements were obtained with a 21-ft concave-grating instrument operated in the fourth and fifth orders with microwave excited argon and krypton continua being used as background sources. Observations were made on the following band systems: $ a^{1}\Pi_{g}-X^{1}\Sigma^{+}{g}(v^{1} = 0-15), a^{1} \Sigma^{-}{u}-X^{1}\Sigma_{g}(v^{1} = 0-19), B^{1}\ {^{3}}\Sigma^{-}{u}-X^{1}\Sigma{g} (v^{1} = 0-18), C {^{3}}\Pi_{u}-X^{1}\Sigma_{g}(v^{\prime}=0-2)$. Rotational analyses were performed on all bands except the (0-0) band of the a-X system.
