Abstract

Pressure broadening coefficients of rotation vibration lines in the 0-4 through 0-7 overtone bands of HCl have been obtained utilizing a Fourier Transform spectrometer at Kitt Peak National Observatory in conjunction with a 409 meter pathlength White cell. This data has been inverted utilizing the procedure of DePristo and Rabitz to yield state-to-state rotationally inelastic rate $constants.^{1}$ These experiments along with previous data on the fundamental and lower ovartone bunds of HCl provide information about the change of rotationally inelastic interactions for a wide range of vibrational excitation in HCl.
