Abstract

Intensities, half-widths and shapes of rotational lines in the ν3 fundamental of methane have been measured at several temperatures between 150K and 295K . Data on half-widths in self-broadening and in broadening by H2, N2 and He, are compared with the theoretical results of Tejwani. Temperature dependence of line and band intensities, and of half-widths in all of the cases of broadening, is discussed.
