Abstract

The molecular dipole moment matrix is obtained in the Hamiltonian representation by a contact transformation. Infrared intensities and dipole moments of polyatomic molecules are obtained for vibrationally-excited states. The results are applied to the bent $XY_{2}$ molecul.Dipole moment functions are calculated for $SO_{2}$, $O_{3}$, and $H_{2}O$.
