Knowledge Bank

The spectrum of a 32m path of NO has been obtained between 1700 and $2000cm-1$ with a spectral resolution of about $0.07cm-1$. In addition to lines associated with the 1 - 0 vibrational transitions of several isotopic species of NO a number of lines associated with the transition between the levels $\mathrm{<mrow\; data-mjx-texclass="ORD">2</mrow>}\pi 3/2,v=0\to 2\Pi 1/2,v=1$ of $N14O16$ have been observed. The experimentally observed strengths of these lines are compared with those predicted by $James1$.
