Abstract
The electronic transition moments of $C_{2}$ band systems in the spectral region 0.2 - 1.2 microns have been measured. The measurements were made in emission behind incident shock waves in $C_{2}H_{2}$ - Argon mixtures. The shock velocities were approximately 4.5 km/sec which resulted in post-shock temperatures of about $6000^{\circ} K$. Narrow passband radiometers were used to obtain absolute measurements of shock excited $C_{2}$ radiation from which absolute electronic transition moments are derived. The results are:[FIGURE]
