Abstract

The Stark spectra of $CH_{3}OD$ and $CD_{3}OH$ have been investigated in the far-infrared region using the DCN and $H_{2}O$ lasers. The spectra were recorded at room temperature for both parallel and perpendicular polarizations using electric fields up to 60 000 V/cm. Several transitions have been observed with these laser lines. For $CD_{3}OH$, the transitions $J_{K}= 14_{5} \leftarrow 13_{6} E_{2} v_{t}=1, J_{K} = 14_{3} \leftarrow 15_{2} A^{-} v_{t} = 1$, and $J_{K}= 11_{6} \leftarrow 10_{7} E_{1} v_{t} =1$ have been identified with the $195 \mu m$ line of the DCN laser. Zero-field frequencies for all assigned transitions will be reported.
