Abstract

In recent years the C2Π state of AIO has been the subject of some controversy. In 1994 Towle etal.a published the results and analysis of a high resolution study of the C2ΠX2Σ+(0,0) band. Later in 1994 Towle etal.b published a reanalysis of that data in combination more data from Singh and Sakenac The reanalysis yielded molecular constants for the C2Π state that were in agreement with those published ina to within experimental accuracy. Ito etal.d have reanalyzed the data fromc and published a set of molecular constants that are markedly different from those of Towle etal.a These differences will be discussed.
