Abstract
The first set of results that will be reported are an intercomparison of wavenumber data between the $CO_{2}$ and HCN bands occurring at 14 $\mu$m. The following comparison demonstrates that the internal consistency of Wavenumber values is good and well within $\pm 0.0005$ $cm^{-1}$. [FIGURE] R(1) of $\nu_{2}$ of $H^{12}C^{14}N$ relative to Q(28) of $\nu_{2}$ of $H^{12}C^{14}N = 717.8932$ as compared to 717.8927 (S. P. Reddy, W. Ivancic, V. Malathy Devi, A. Baldacci, K. Narahari Rao, A. W. Mantz, and R. S. Eng, Applied Optics, May 1 issue, p. 1350 (1979)). In all these wavenumber determinations the Fabry-Perot fringes produced with an air-spaced etalon having a spacing of about $0.015 cm^{-1}$ were recorded simultaneously with the scanning of infrared data. Secondly, the $H^{12}C^{14}N$ values used have been based on the band center value given by Yin and Rao (J. Mol. Spectrosc. 42, 385 (1972)) from grating data the exact uncertainty for which was not available until now. The same procedure has been adopted for measuring the $H^{13}C^{14}N$ data for its $\nu_{2}$ band. Among other molecular species studied are $C_{2}H_{2}, O_{3}$ and $NO_{2}$. The acetylene data include the Q branch lines of the ``hot’’ band $2\nu_{5}-\nu_{5} (\Sigma-\Pi)$ of carbon-13 variety ($^{13}C_{2}H_{2}$) occurring in the natural sample. Results for $H^{13}C^{14}N: \nu_{2}$ band ---Q(4) 706.0997; Q(5) 706.1672; Q(6) 706.2481; Q(7) 706.3425 Q(8) 706.4503; Q(9) 706.5714; Q(10) 706.7060; Q(11) 706.8539; Q(12) 707.0151; Q(13) 707.1896. For calibration of diode laser spectra in this region the $\nu_{2}$ bands of $CO_{2}$ and HCN cover the region $610-805 cm^{-1}$. Finally, from Q branch of $\nu_{1}-\nu_{2}$ of $^{12}C^{16}O^{17}O$ constants were determined.
