Abstract
The measurement of the infrared spectrum of an adsorbed species in monolayer and submonolayer concentrations on a low-area surface presents significant experimental problems. A spectrometer has been designed and built for such measurements and has been used to measure the spectrum of carbon monoxide adsorbed on the 110 plane of an oriented single crystal of tungsten.
