Absorption spectra of $D2$ and HD have been investigated in the $800-1100\backslash AA$ region with a 6.65 m normal-incidence vacuum spectrograph in the second order. Analysis was carried through for the $B\leftarrow X(v\prime =5-20)$ and $C\leftarrow X(v\prime =0-4)$ bands in $D2$ and for the $B\leftarrow X(v\prime =5-17)$ and $C\leftarrow X(v\prime =0-3)$ bands in HD. All these have not been previously analysed in absorption. Molecular constants obtained in this work will be discussed in comparison with previous results.
