Abstract
Sondra Kowaluk discusses her experiences as a married mother who attended OSU first at night, then full-time to earn a business administration degree in 1976. She describes some of the classes that were helpful to her in her career as an accountant, and she talks about how she juggled her coursework with raising a child. In addition, she describes several incidents of discrimination she faced along the way to earning her degree and the general atmosphere for female accounting students on campus at that time. She also describes her career as a public accountant and the general acceptance of women in her field by most male colleagues. She discusses as well her involvement in the American Society of Women Accountants.
